SACHIN TENDULKAR

Born on 24 April 1973- Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was named after the renowned favourite music director Sachin Dev Burman. Sachin was encouraged to play cricket by his elder brother, Ajit Tendulkar. Sachin showed signs of greatness early on in life. While at school, he teamed up with Vinod Kambli for an unbroken 664-run partnership in a Harris Shield game in 1988. His international career took off in 1989 when he played his first international match against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989. He went on to become the leading run-scorer in the 1996 Cricket World Cup. This little master has the hopes of an entire country resting on his shoulders everytime he goes in to the field. Sachin holds a plethora of records to his name. A while ago, my dad met a stranger who was new to our small town. From the beginning, dad was fascinated with his enchanting newcomer.  The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on. As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructions. Mom taught me good from evil, and dad taught me to obey. But the stranger... he was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies. If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind. Enforced on 12th October 2005, the Right to Information Act The Right to Information Act has been a marvel in a country that boasted unbreachable barriers between the ruler and the ruled. The key objective of the law is to empower the citizens, promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government in order to prevent corruption and strengthen our country's democracy.
